A brief history about Viola Desmond:

Viola, a successful business woman, was on her way to the United States for a business trip. Her car broke down so she thought she would enjoy the evening and go to a theatre in Nova Scotia, Canada. She could not see from the upper seating area, so she when to the lower section. She was asked to leave the "all white section." She refused. She was dragged out of the theatre.

The Canadian government was very embarrassed about this many years later.

Viola Desmond is now on the face of the Canadian 10 dollar bill!
