You are receiving a 6 page (prints out 8 1/2 X 11) Columbus Day REBUS story about Christopher Columbus. You are also receiving 7 pictures (prints 2 per page)
It is simple text and to the point...which is great for young readers.
The story reads:
In the year (1492) an explorer named (Christopher Columbus)
sailed on a big ocean. The (king) and (queen) of Spain sent him
to find new land. He sailed 3 (ships), the Nina, the Pinta, and the
Santa Maria. He sailed 2 months and then saw (land). It was land
we now call the Bahamas. Now we honor (Christopher Columbus) each year on Columbus Day!
The words in parenthesis are the pictures (or the rebus) parts of the story. Students will cut and glue these to complete. This makes the story interactive and fun for students! How excited the students will be to take it home to share with their family!
Also included is a color version that can be printed, laminated and bound as a reader and placed in the classroom library ...or perhaps you can use the pages on a projector to guide students while completing the booklet.
