These two worksheets are useful in introducing, or reviewing, combining sentences correctly. One page of sentences, when combined, will result in sentences that each have a simple subject with a compound predicate. Students will have to combine sentences on the other page to produce sentences with a compound subject and a simple predicate. A clear example is given at the top of each page. This exercise can be expanded by having the students "Think-Pair-Share" and create their own simple sentences to be combined by the other students.
