This is a "Combo Pack" of Baa Baa Black Sheep, Jack and Jill, Little Bo Peep and Three Blind Mice Pocket Charts. Each provides a quick and easy learning center to make. Also included is a student copy of the Nursery Rhyme for the child to highlight the rhyming words and illustrate the rhyme. This can be added to a poetry booklet. This Center is based on the Kindergarten and First Grade Common Core Standards:
Kindergarten-RL.K.5, RI.L.10, RF.K.1c, RF.K.2a, SL.K.5, SL.K.6
Grade 1- RL.1.4, RL.1.7, RL.1.10, RF.1.4b, SL.1.2, and SL.1.5
Learning Nursery Rhymes is proven way for our young learners to improve their reading comprehension. Listening comprehension precedes reading comprehension. Many of the traditional rhymes are repetitious and allow children to memorize basic structures and patterns in the English Language. Rhyme is important in developing phonemic [hearing] awareness in children.
