This language pack allows students to demonstrate understanding of multiple language skills and engage in functional activities based on weather concepts.
Page 1: Title Page
Page 2-6: Weather Forecast: Discuss the included "5 Day Forecast" chart (i.e., locations represented and different weather symbols). Then, answer the wh- questions (18 total).
Page 7-9: Compare and Contrast: 2 Vin Diagrams included, "Save It For a Rainy Day" and "Break the Ice." Discuss different activities you can too based on the weather.
Page 10-15: "On Cloud Nine" Weather Idioms: 12 idioms included. Have students match the idioms with the actual meanings. Then, using the activity sheet, have students select one idiom to draw and write a sentence using the idiom.
Page 16-19: Weather Homophones: Discuss the multiple meaning pairs and make sentences to demonstrate both meanings. Complete the activity sheet during the session/class or send home as a simple carry-over activity.
Page 20: Weather Game Board: Help the meteorologist find his way back to the weather station. Use this game board with any of the listed activities as reinforcement.
