Aligned with Common Core RL.K.3: Identify characters
This project goes perfectly with the following story. but you do not need to read it to complete this project.

If you have a copy, read Witch, Witch, Come To My Party,
by Auden Druce and illustrated by Pat Ludlow

You can choose a Halloween theme, a Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any holiday theme. You can also choose characters from another favorite story. Students can invite nursery rhyme characters to their party!

Students pick a character to begin their story. The teacher may write the character name for the student to copy. The student writes the name of that character twice at the top of the first page and draws a picture to match the character. Below the picture, the student writes the name of a new character. That character's name is written twice at the top of the next page and the student illustrates that page. Then another character is added to the bottom of pg. 2.

The student continues in the is manner until the last page where the very first character is written at the bottom. This creates a circle story that ends where it began.

Students will love reading their own story to a partner and then their families.
