This is just another way to get student's involved in the material they have just covered.
First print the BINGO sheet on regular ditto paper. Then print the cards on cardstock and laminate them (to keep them from year to year). Shuffle the cards and get ready to call words when student sheets are ready. (Place them in a ziplock bag to keep them from year-to-year.)
Have student's go thru and pick out words they think you might call out and write the words in ink in each of the spaces on the game sheet. Once they finish, go around a check the sheets then initial each "as ready to play". When ALL sheets are ready to play, start calling out words from the cards. (Make sure you initial ANY scratch-outs or changes before the game begins).
Continue to call words still someone shouts "BINGO". Check their sheet to see if it is correct. Then assign them the appropriate extra credit. At that point, continue to call out words until all the extra points are given or time runs out.
This game is based on the movie "The Buccaneer" which I generally use following the War of 1812 and the study of Statehood. The film is all fiction but much of it deals with the historical figures and time period.
