This zipped filed has 2 items:
1. 25-slide powerpoint that gives definitions and examples of comedic devices used in literature. It covers the following: Comedy vs. Tragedy, Satire, Parody, Irony, Cynicism, Invective, Double Entendre, Burlesque, Malapropism, Farce, Wit, Puns.
2. Humor practice: 2 page handout for students to practice with the information from the powerpoint (to be given after showing powerpoint). This file also has a 3rd page which is the teacher answer key for the humor practice handout.
Note: My "Puns powerpoint" that I sell on TpT is incorporated into this presentation. Also, I recommend this for Honors or AP because it does discuss conventions of humor that are, at times, risque.
