The purpose of this project is to create an opportunity for students to identify and analyze comedy in a variety of contexts and, after thorough study, apply their knowledge and understanding by performing elements of humor in a five-minute speech/stand-up routine in class.
The project contains three parts:
Part 1: Research Matrix (assessed)
Part 2: Written Analysis (60%)
Part 3: Performance (Live - In Class) (40%)
This product contains detailed instructions for each step and two rubrics (Ontario). Curriculum expectations can be easily adjusted to meet SBA.
My grade twelve classes recently completed this unit and produced excellent routines. It helped lighten the mood during an otherwise stressful, semester-end period.
