This activity gives students an in-depth, applied experience of analysing and creating comedy in Shakespeare’s 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream'.
- identify humour hidden in the text, and develop their knowledge of the play
- consider ways of adding physical comedy beyond the text
- encounter the practical considerations of directing and performing comedy
- brainstorm and present their own ideas for directing and performing comedy
It is designed as a small group English/drama activity, with a choice of up to seven different questions/directing and acting tasks for groups to tackle.
