This Reader's Theater was written for a small group of 4 students. In Spanish the title would be 'Cometas, Asteroides y Meteoros.' It is to help explain what comets, meteors, and asteroids are. In the script, a boy named Brian is supposed to have written a report about Comets, Meteors, and Asteroids but he hasn’t been working on it. He thinks that all of them are space rocks. His friends help him out and explain the differences between them.
We write small group reader's theaters so they will work better in centers and to avoid having long wait times between student's lines. Wait time is not reading time and often turns into off task behavior time. Small group reader's theater helps to get students reading more and encourages even reluctant readers to practice fluency.
Our names are Julio Lopez and Melanie Whitesides but our store name is LosDosMaestros and we hope that your students enjoy this script as much as ours did.
We love tying in multiple subjects with reading and have done so. If you like this script please check out some of our others. Most of our scripts are black and white so that they can be photo copied easier for your students. Please let us know what you think.
