This simple project has students research information about a food from a Spanish-speaking country and share that through a class presentation. The project requires students to choose a food from a Spanish-speaking country and then find out information such as a brief history of the food, when it is eaten, how it is made, etc. Below are a few notes from my experience:
1. I give this assignment near the end of the school year. It is meant to be simple and fairly easy (as long as students follow the instructions). It is also supposed to be fun. As a language teacher, you are always asked when food day is. This is a way for students to have an enjoyable class tasting authentic foods but also learn a little bit about culture and presentation skills.
2. I have outlined in the document how I divide up the points (giving bonus for bringing in the food); however, you are welcome to change the points however you like. This is simply what works for me.
3. I include two copies of the text on one page simply for paper saving purposes.
