Use culture and graphic organizers to get your kids learning about what Spanish-speakers around the world eat. Students will learn about four Latino families from different parts of el mundo hispanohablante, what they eat, and will use their previous knowledge of foods to organize vocabulary in a graphic organizer. I always present entirely in Spanish, but it is certainly adaptable for your preference. This activity was created for use with Avancemos Unidad 4, but it goes well with Realidads Captítulos 3 and 4 or literally any unit where students know a decent amount of food vocabulary.
Contains a link to a ready-to-use digital presentation with instructions and photos and a two-sided handout for students to organizer their vocabulary. After students view the presentation, they are prompted to create questions to interview their classmates. As such it includes all three modes of communication: interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational.
This is a great activity once your kids know a little bit of vocabulary to get your kids talking in Spanish and learning about cultural differences.
