Product Description
In this activity, students are to create a visual (poster, video, slide show, etc.) that goes along with our "Coming of Age" Unit. In class, the students are reading a "Coming of Age" Novel so I thought making personal connections would be a great way to introduce many of the same themes and experiences with the class. I titled this, "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something to be Viewed."

Something Old- Students are asked to share an experience that they have gone through that made them feel "old" or "mature."

Something New- Students are asked to share a upcoming challenge that they are preparing for.

Something Borrowed- Students are asked to share with the class a quote, idea or story that they've heard that they think the class can learn from or relate to.

Something Viewed- All three of these pieces need to presented to the class in a visual representation (poster, slide show, movie, etc.).

In my experience, students really enjoy this activity and it always tends to bring the class together because they've shared many of the same "coming of age" experiences.
