Comma Task Cards
Use these comma 32 task cards to help reinforce comma use rules. This set will review commas to separate names, interjections, non-essential clauses, items in a series, dates, cities, and complex sentences.
Aligned to: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.5.2 & CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.6.2 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
A great way to use them is playing SCOOT! SCOOT is an easy, fun, fast paced game that will get the kids up and moving around.
Place a task card on each desk in numerical order. Each student will read the sentence and will write down the correct answer on their sheet. Then after a minute or two, say "SCOOT!" and the students will SCOOT over to the next seat and get started on the next question straight away.
