Review commas with this fun trashketball game! This power point presentation will reinforce student learning of correct comma use for the following: commas in compound sentences, commas in a series, commas for introductory phrases/clauses, and commas for nonessential phrases/clauses. Additionally, this game meets the expectations of Common Core for informational text since students read and learn about Greek Mythology.
At the beginning of the game, several guidelines for comma use are reviewed for the students. After reviewing the guidelines, there are three rounds for the students to play. The difficulty increases in the third round.
This power point includes the following slides: two review slides, game slides, rules for the students, teacher instructions, and a key.
Research shows that students often learn best when they can move, and this game motivates them with their love of sports. When you put your students in heterogeneous groups for a game with friendly competition, it is an excellent way to meet the needs of all of your students and reward them for their success.
