This fraction study guide and assessment is aligned with the 3rd grade common core standards. The students are asked to compare fractions, represent fractions on a number line, and write fractions based on a picture representation. Students are also asked to answer questions that prove their understanding that the size of a fractional part is relative to the size of the whole. For example, half of a large pizza is more than half of a small pizza. Students also must use the fact that fractional parts must be equal-sized in order to correctly answer some of the questions.
