Fourth and Fifth Grade Prime Numbers teaches students what the prime numbers are from 1 to 100 using Eratosthenes' Sieve. The concepts of factors, prime, and composite numbers are explained. Students will be able to identify all numbers from 1 to 100 if they are composite, prime or neither. There is a title slide, focus slide, objective, essential questions, vocabulary, step-by-step demonstration on how to find out if numbers are prime or composite, guided practice, checking for understanding, and a reward slide at the end. For best results, students should have white boards and dry erase markers. Students will need graph paper before the lesson starts.
