I was lucky enough to be a part of a text book team, and the 8 mathematical practices were really pushed. I made a poster of these practices, and then made a "kid-friendly" version. I ran this document through my poster maker at school and colored the arrows (we have a black/white poster maker). I teach middle elementary, so clip art was not of the essence. We discuss each of the mathematical practices we are working on that day in both areas (the "teacher" and the "kid" version) and this poster is always displayed in my room.
