This is a Common Core aligned research activity on Electricity. It is meant to accompany the story, How Ben Franklin Stole the Lightning, but it could be used independently.
Throughout the investigation, students will work on a vocabulary journal to support their exploration. Students will learn about electricity by exploring a website and completing a learning guide that supports their work. Students will also get into teams to create a large scale timeline of the history of electricity on butcher paper. They will use a website of scientists who made contributions to our understanding and use of electricity and a website with an interactive timeline to conduct research for their project. Last, students will write a narrative telling how they would make it through a day if there were no electricity.
