These task cards ask students to look at area and perimeter through relationships, comparing, application, and doubling. I used these task cards as a center to extend my students thinking of area and perimeter.
These task cards are multiple choice, allowing students to use their test prep skills! Each task is challenging and gives students a chance to take area and perimeter to the next level!
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
P.18 Area of squares and rectangles
P.19 Area of complex figures (with all right angles)
P.20 Area between two rectangles
P.21 Compare area and perimeter of two figures
P.22 Relationship between area and perimeter
