Get ready for spook-tacular writing from your kiddos! This 32 page packet of Halloween-themed writing prompts are a fun way to model or practice common core writing skills! With spooky font and topics like "Write a how-to guide for scaring trick-or-treaters." and "Should schools allow students to have Halloween parties?", these writing prompts are sure to entice even the most reluctant writers! There are 8 narrative, 8 informational, and 8 opinion prompts included in this packet. Contents include:
*3 lists that can be placed in a writing center, used in small groups, mounted on a "writing choice" bulletin board, or put in students' writing folders
*Separate cards with each prompt written on it, along with a Halloween border and clip art
*A credits page that also lists the common core standards addressed in this packet.
For your convenience in case you want to save ink, I've included everything above in black and white as well! (Please note, the individual cards in B&W still have colored clip art on them, because the cards looked too plain and boring without pictures. The clip art does not take up a lot of ink, but if you want true B&W pages, run these cards in black and white on your printer.)
Use these to model good writing, allow students to choose a certain number of prompts from each list, or have students pick one of these to write each week...the possibilities are endless!
