Your students will love practicing fraction operations while playing this Tic-Tac-Toe Activity!
This game is played like regular tic-tac-toe, except a player must correctly solve a fraction problem before marking a space.
The first player will choose a space, but both players will solve each of the problems. If a player marks a space, but gives the wrong answer, then the other player can "challenge" the move. If this happens, both players will have to check their answers with the teacher. If the answer is proven to be wrong, then the other player gets the mark. The first player to get three in a row wins!
Extra Tip: You will need to have the answer key ready to resolve any "challenges" so plan to be walking around with the answer key throughout this activity. I have also found that putting students into groups of 4 (2v2) is a great way to have the students help each other to find the correct solution.
