Comment from customer in reviews: "Great product! It had great reviews from my administrator during my walk through! Thank you!"
Included is a rubric for every 2nd grade common core Reading Literature and Informational Text skill. Students will rate their ability on a scale from 1-4. The format I have used for the rubrics is an arrow, so their goal is to go up, to a 4.
At the beginning of the week or the skill, have students rate themselves on the rubric. Throughout the week refer back to the rubric and have students rate themselves again. The goal is for them to move up which = LEARNING!
For example, character, setting, and plot, if they start at the beginning of the week with a 1 (meaning they need help), the goal at the end of the week or the end of the skill to be at a 4 (being able to do it independently).
Each rubric is tied to the common core skill and covers reading informational text and reading Literature.
At the end of the packet, there is a tracking progress sheet. Students can color in a box labeled 1,2,3, or 4 to keep track of what they know. AS THEY LEARN THE SKILL, THEY CAN SEE THEMSELVES LEARNING AND MOVING UP ON THE RUBRIC.
This has been a great tool in my classroom this year, and students can quickly understand what they know and where they need to be. it encourages them to reach the top of the rubric :)
