Common Core seem daunting for your students? These "Extended Standards" give them access to the general education curriculum by breaking down standards into three levels of complexity.
Even though I use the REGULAR CC Standards for most of my students, I have used these levels of complexity to build up to some of the more challenging concepts.
Having the Extended Standards statements posted in my room has really helped some of my kids (and me) feel less overwhelmed with regular CC statements that seem difficult to them! We can see that we can tackle them step by step!
There are 69 Grade 3-5 Science "I CAN" CC Statements in LARGE print to be easily seen by students and administration.
You CAN print them in B&W (black and white).

EXTENDED Content Standards Common Core "I CAN" Statements were developed in North Carolina, Delaware and Ohio for Students with Special Needs and those performing significantly below grade level.
"Recognizing the need to make the content standards accessible for all students, the Offices of Curriculum, Assessment and Exceptional Children at the Ohio Department of Education developed the Ohio’s Academic Content Standards-Extended (OACS-E)." 4/2012
