Thank you for downloading this free resource to evaluate my materials, and/or to use aboard your ship (in your classroom)! This resource is a double-sided practice worksheet to use in conjunction with the Common Core math standard 4.G.A.1: Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.
I have constructed this resource with a review table on the backside of the worksheet. Depending on the skill level of your students, you may choose to omit the review table. A scoring rubric is also available on the backside of the worksheet. Although the rubric directions state it is “…for Captain use only…” you may wish to have your students self evaluate their work before handing it in for your review.
Additionally, you may need to differentiate this worksheet for some of your learners dependent on their ability to read and follow a set of directions. Luckily, it is easy to differentiate this resource for a segment of your students! Simply, sketch a few guiding elements on the blank map prior to making student copies to differentiate it for learners who may need a visual springboard. Do you need to differentiate for higher learners? Challenge them to create a set of their own checklist directions for a new map after they have correctly completed the map on the worksheet here.
Here’s luck, and a fair wind to you,
