This product is a worksheet that walks students explicitly through converting fractions to decimals to percents.
In order to use this product, you will need to purchase Halloween themed marshmallows from Target or your local grocery store and put them into individual bags for students. UPDATE: I have included an alternative option where students utilize a coloring sheet with different graphics in the place of the marshmallows since the marshmallows have been difficult to find as of 10/2016.
Students will count the total number of marshmallows or characters they have been given, sort out the different types of marshmallows or characters, and create fractions to represent the different types of marshmallows or characters. These fractions are then converted to decimals. The decimals are then changed to percents. The student response sheet has a cloze student response sheet that walks students through explaining the process of converting the fractions to percents. (CC aligned). It also asks the students to compare their results with a partner.
You can print in Grayscale to save ink! Print only pages 2 and 3 for student use. Print double-sided to save paper.
