This is a booklet full of homographs to help test on the standard to see if students understand that words can have multiple meanings. When I ask students to tell me two kinds of bats, they usually say a brown bat and a vampire bat. I have used various flipcharts to help them, but I find that they better understand it when they draw it themselves and write about it. It is now a clear visual.
Directions: Copy and cut the booklet horizontally. There is plenty of room on the side to staple the booklet together. Have students draw a picture and write the meaning under it on the line.
Ex: bat- something that you play baseball with or an animal that flies
