These middle school writing prompts are presented with bright colors and engaging clip art. They are perfect for practicing writing for a wide range of writing tasks. The tasks include writing arguments, narratives, and informative/explanatory texts to examine topics and convey ideas. The Common Core English Writing Standards for Middle School suggest that students write for a range of discipline-specific tasks, purposes, and audiences. I have included letters, articles, narratives, and editorials. Some writing prompts even give students a choice between two different questions.
