This worksheet contains 10 word problems that require students to write an exponential function and then plug in for the independent or dependent variable to answer the question. After students record their answer, they color the number grid according to the shading key next to each problem. Once they finish their worksheet, they will have a cool design on the number grid! Students only need one coloring utensil to complete this worksheet.
Answer Key is included!
NOTE: In my standard course of study, students do not "solve" exponential functions. They setup the function, put it in their y=, and then use the table to find the answer. If you do it by hand, your answers will be a little different. For example, for question 6, it says over 10,000. If a student set the equation equal to 10,001, x is approximately 15.4 years but the correct answer on the worksheet is 16. I hope that makes sense!
