This carousal Post-it review can be used to review domains or modules, 1-4 of the common core NY State 6th grade math curriculum. These domains include Ratios and Proportional Relationships, The Number System, Expressions and Equations and Geometry. Each question reviews a different domain using multi-step problems.
Copy each page of questions on a separate color.
Put students in groups of four.
Hand out one page of questions to each student in the group.
Have the students cut out their questions so they have four copies of the same question in front of them.
Have the students take one copy of the questions they just cut and solve it.
Students should then take the question they solved and leave the other three copies at their seat. They rotate to a new seat where a new question is waiting for them. They solve this question.
Students take both questions with them and rotate to the third question.
Students repeat this at the fourth question.
When the group has solved all four questions independently, they meet together.
As a group they go over each question and determine the correct answer.
When the group agrees they write the answer on a post-it and place it on the board in a chart that has been divided into four sections (One for each question).
At the end of the activity the teacher can either go over every problem or just ones that caused the most trouble.
