This is a great station activity for the common core strand ratios and proportional reasoning. Students must express a given rate in three ways (includng the unit rate), then create scenarios for complex rates. This assures that when, for example, they are asked to write a complex rate to solve a problem, they will know exactly what to do. This can also be used as a classwork or homework assignment.
This activity is included in the BUNDLE Proportional Reasoning at 15% off, the BIG BUNDLE for Seventh Grade First Semster at 20% off, and the BEST BUNDLE for Seventh Grade Complete Year at 25% off!!!!

Compute unit rates associated with ratios of fractions, including ratios of lengths, areas and other quantities measured in like or different units. For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction 1/2/1/4 miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour.
