This activity was created for my middle school math stations on coordinate graphs. It is brief (one page), but will give your students the opportunity to each complete a unique set of problems. They choose a card with specific coordinates and use it to complete the activity. This way when they ask each other for help, it cannot be, “What’s the answer to number one?” but rather, “Can you explain how to do number one?” The conversations and explanations that arise are great.

CCSS.Math.Content.6.NS.C.8 Solve real-world and mathematical problems by graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane. Include use of coordinates and absolute value to find distances between points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate.
