This is a comprehensive vocabulary review for middle grade math. It includes 33 essential vocabulary words in an "I Have Who Has" game. For this game, simply cut out the cards and pass them out to your class. Students can take more that one card. Be sure to distribute all of them. Choose a student to begin by reading the "Who has...." question from their card. The student with the correct response then reads their whole card. The game is over when all cards have been read and you get back to the first student.
This activity would be great to review before a standardized test or to get students ready to solve a variety of short answer and extended response problems. The included terms are: product, quotient, difference, sum, simplest form, LCM, GCF, improper fraction, proper fraction, factors, multiples, prime, composite, prime factorization, least common denominator, equivalent fractions, mean, median, mode, range, numerical expression, algebraic expression, equation, reciprocals, opposite, percent, proportion, ratio, inverse operations, variable, line graph, circle graph, and histogram. This activity was created by Kimberly Wasylyk, a middle school math teacher with 10 years of experience.
