Common Core Phonemic Awareness Assessment. This assessment addresses CCSS RF.K.2. , RF.K.2a, RF.K.2b, RF.K.2c, and RF.K.2d. Once given, this assessment can be used to provide you with data and evidence of students who are in need of Tier 1 or Tier 2 RtI intervention.
Michelle and I have used this informal PA assessment to help us differentiate our kindergarten small group instruction. The students who receive a 0-1 in any area get more intensive instruction than the children who receive a 4. We have found this to be very successful. When a child struggles to make growth after a four- week period of time we then have the data we need to go to our RtI team.
