Many schools use SSR, or Sustained Silent Reading, as a tool to help increase the literacy and enjoyment of reading for their students. Sometime, the pure enjoyment of reading is the goal, and no other activities are needed. But other times, the teacher wants to have some type of accountability for their reading. This packet includes ELA Common Core State Standard based questions and activities that I created for my students to use after each day of SSR in my class. Responses are set to take only five to ten minutes to complete, and the questions were created to be general enough to be used with any novel a student might choose to read.
