This product was intended to be used along with other resources you find that pertain and will enhance and improve your student’s abilities to master the 2nd Grade Common Core Standards for Reading Foundational Skills.
Every strand is covered for reading foundational skills.
Each strand is explained and tips/strategies are given to you (the teacher) about how to introduce and teach these skills to your students.
The practice pages are pages that your students can work on with you in small group to practice mastering skill. The practice pages are also a guideline for you (the teacher) to see an example of what the standard/strand is covering so you can gather similar resources needed to help your students reach a mastery level.
The assessment pages can be given as a final check so that students can prove they have mastered the skill they have been practicing.
The evidence pages are written in kid friendly language and have a space provided for students to explain in their own words, how they know they have mastered the standard. There is also a section for the teacher to sign off on if they strongly agree, agree, or disagree that the student has mastered the skill. These sheets can be placed in a student portfolio or used in parent conferences, or data meetings at school.
