These adapted news articles are shortened according to reading skill level. There are three versions of each article, known as "Sharks" (Low), "Jellyfish" (Average), and "Unicorn" (High), each getting increasingly closer to the original article.
The news articles, always cited at the bottom of the adaptation, are used to create reading comprehension questions that are aligned with Common Core and labelled as such.
These are great tools for increasing student interest in science class while improving upon their reading comprehension skills. Students look forward to their next weekly reading!
