Common Core Standard Informational Text RI.2.5: Know and use various text features to locate key facts or information in a text efficiently.
This printable was created to address the above standard. Students are very briefly introduced to reading efficiently (or skimming). This is followed by four different practice exercises. In each, a list of questions is followed by opening sentences or whole paragraphs from informational texts on a single topic. Students are encouraged to try and quickly decide which lettered paragraph they would read from the text to find the answer to the question. Please see the Preview to get an idea of the product. These texts are written at a Grade 4-5 reading level, and answers are provided.
