What am I downloading?
In my rubrics, a rainbow is broken into different colors to represent the sections of individual reading standards. The rubric also translates each section of the standard into examples.
These Rainbow Rubrics cover: Print Concepts, Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, and Fluency.
How can I use them?
Teachers can use these rubrics as their personal check off list, quick assessments (exit tickets), classroom posters, or even student reference sheets. As a teacher, I used it to translate the Common Core standards to my Spanish speaking parents.
How can my students use them?
Students are able to understand their teacher's expectations. Students can also keep track of which standard they are working towards and which standards they have met. In the past, I have printed them in black and white in order for my students to color in the part of the standard that they have met. When they have colored in the entire rainbow, they receive a small incentive. It also makes them feel prepared for the standard's assessment.
