This file contains 20+ rubrics that correspond with Common Core 1st grade Math. A proven Marzano strategy is student's tracking their own progress. These rubrics help students rate themselves on their understanding of a skill.
Prior to this set, I had created rubrics for 2nd grade Math and ELA here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Common-Core-Math-Rubrics-Tracking-Student-Progress-633949
So many people requested 1st grade rubrics so here they are :)
Comment from customer in reviews: "Great product! It had great reviews from my administrator during my walk through! Thank you!" (Referring to 2nd Grade Rubrics in my store)
Included is a rubric for EVERY 1st grade common core math skill. Students will rate their ability on a scale from 1-4. The format I have used for the rubrics is an arrow, so their goal is to go up, to a 4.
At the beginning of the week or the skill, have students rate themselves on the rubric. Throughout the week refer back to the rubric and have students rate themselves again. The goal is for them to move up which = LEARNING!
For example, counting money, if they start at the beginning of the week with a 1 (meaning they need help counting money), the goal at the end of the week or the end of the skill to be at a 4 (solving word problems with money).
Each rubric is tied to the common core skill and covers the 4 math sections
*Operations & Algebraic Thinking
*Numbers and Operations
At the end of the packet, there is a tracking progress sheet. Students can color in a box labeled 1,2,3, or 4 to keep track of what they know. AS THEY LEARN THE SKILL, THEY CAN SEE THEMSELVES LEARNING AND MOVING UP ON THE RUBRIC.
This has been a great tool in my classroom this year, and students can quickly understand what they know and where they need to be. it encourages them to reach the top of the rubric :)
