I have used this unit for the past five years. Very SUCCESSFUL! This unit will help your students excel not only in spelling , but increase their knowledge in vocabulary.
The EDL Reading Core Vocabulary is composed of words introduced in the more widely used basal reading series and/or found on frequency lists. The list is arranged in alphabetical order and includes only the words introduced on the specific grade level. I took the list and put them in groups according to phonics or grammar skills. My lessons are aligned to the common core and can be adapted to other grades (K, 1, 2).
