This is a 28 page interactive flipchart that can be used for instruction and assessment of CCSS 1.OA.2: Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
The flipchart starts with 10 different word problems (2 pages per problem). The problems allow students to progress from using objects/virtual manipulatives to solve the problems, progressing to a number line, and then finally the equation. The first page has the problem using objects and drawings to illustrate the problem. The second page has the same problem with a number line for solving the problem at the top of the page and a place to create the equation at the bottom of the page (see preview). The flipchart concludes with 5 additional word problems that are all interactive and also set to be used with the expressions. The last side provides directions on how to export the assessment results to excel. Of course the flipchart and assessment questions can still be used even if you do not have Expressions.
