This is a 40 page flipchart used to teach and assess CCSS 1.OA.6. The standard is add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition within 10. This flipchart focuses on the addition part of the standard.
The first 4 slides are interactive and demonstrate how to decompose numbers to make a ten. One slide is interactive with 2 decks of cards that you can click on to make different problems for practice. The page can be reset and used multiple times for continuous practice generating different problems each time. The next eleven slides are set to be containers. Students drag the number sentence to the box depending on whether or not the sum is indicated. For example, if the directions say to find all addends whose sum is 10, then 5 + 5 will stay in the box, but 4 + 4 would bounce back out. There is one page for each sum 10-20. This is followed by 11 more interactive slides that are matching games for all sums 10-20. For example, students click to turn over two cards. If the sum is 10, then they stay uncovered. If the sum is not 10, then they click again to turn the card back over. One page is set to be containers with connectors for the sums 13, 14, and 15.
Four pages are practice problems where the students write their answer and click on the box to check their answer. The end of the flipchart is 5 questions set to be used with the expressions where students choose the correct number sentence to match the picture. The last page provides directions on how to export the assessment results to excel. Of course the flipchart and assessment questions can still be used even if you do not have Expressions.
