This ELA CCSS based instructional calendar is a pacing guide for a 9 weeks section of a school year. This calendar can be used by classroom teachers or home school teachers. It covers the writing portion of the 8th grade ELA classroom. It also includes PARCC aligned text-based writing prompts that teachers can utilize in the classroom. Also included are rubrics and a sample grammar test with proofreading. Essay topics include a comparison contrast with Anne Frank Remember and an article "Fighting Hitler", Langston Hughes' poems, writing a personal narrative along with graphic organizers, and a biography research project.
