This ELA CCSS based instructional calendar is a pacing guide for a 9 weeks section of a school year. This calendar can be used by classroom teachers or home school teachers. It covers the writing portion of the 8th grade ELA classroom. It also includes PARCC aligned text-based writing prompts that teachers can utilize in the classroom. Essay topics include writing an expository essay "From Boomtown to Ghost Town", the role of dogs in society, a comparison/contrast of the novel Sounder and the movie version, persuasive essay on "Year-round schooling", and a classroom memories booklet.
