About these cards:
Each card has a student friendly CCSS activity, question or writing response on it. They are easy to apply to any reading curriculum/reading assignment/stories read in class. My school uses Journeys, so I use these cards alongside our weekly story. I also read a chapter book to the class for fun and I use these cards for that story too.
There’s a number in the left hand corner that represents what number card it is and there are 64 cards total. In the right hand corner, there is the connecting Common Core Standard. Have a card idea of your own? No worries! There are 10+ blank cards at the end :)
** Please note that the Language standards and some speaking and listening skills are not on activity cards. These skills can be evaluated throughout the previous standard activity cards.
I suggest laminating the pages and then cutting the cards out. (There are 4 cards on each page.) I keep them in a plastic recipe box on my desk. Some days I hand them out to groups or individuals: other days we do one card as a whole class. Depending on how much writing we get in that day, the students either write their response or we have a class discussion. It all depends on the concept, wording and ability of the class. Enjoy!
