Product Description
Second grade content standards in our district call for students to "compare the lives and discoveries of scientists of different cultures and backgrounds."

This PPT is the third in a series created to help students learn about scientists from different cultures and backgrounds, as well as to help them visualize a timeline of events throughout history in order to place the contributions of science into a meaningful context.

This one teaches about the following scientists:

Thomas Alva Edison
Wilbur and Orville Wright
Alexander Graham Bell
Betty Faber (Present Day Entomologist)
Eli Whitney
Gary Takeuchi (Present Day Paleontologist)

Includes a one page summary for each scientist that you can give out to the students to allow them to read and highlight as they answer the quiz (also included).

Great for finding information in the text, critical thinking, making connections, and making inferences!
