I have developed a vocabulary journal to assist my students with determining meaning of interesting words through context clues, picture clues and other resources. This journal aligns with common core standards and the oral vocabulary expectations from Reading Street. Oral vocabulary words are preprinted in journal with a space for word type (noun, verb, adjective), definition, and a picture. There are extra spaces to add more words as your class determines the meaning of new or unfamiliar words.
To make the journal, print this document out front to back, 3-hole punch and place in a folder. When printed, the journal is in alphabetical order. As students fill up a page for letter, an additional page can be printed and added to their journal.
HAVE FUN TEACHING!!
