This package is the epitome of differentiated instruction when it comes to vowels!!! It contains a vowel sort with 54 picture cards and 6 worksheets all of which can be adapted to children's learning needs from Pre-K up through 2nd grade.
The vowel sort can be used with short vowels and long vowels separated or you could challenge students by using long and short together. All of the images are 3-4 letter words with only one vowel sound. The vowel cards do not have the words on them, challenging students even more to identify the correct vowel sound.
The activity sheets that follow the sorting activity helps build even more on what they practiced during the center. There is a matching worksheet where students must match images from the sort with the correct word (one for short vowels and one for long vowels). Another set of worksheets has different images from the word sort next to letter boxes so students can practice spelling and writing the words (again one for long and one for short vowels). Finally a third set of activity sheets has students write three words from the word sort under each short vowel and long vowel.
